Project co-financed by the European community - increase of capability of the czech usar team - USAR CZ

Project co-financed by the EC is designated for increase of capability of the Czech urban search and rescue team. This project was offered by EC in May 2008 as part of the project "Preparatory action on the development of an EU rapid response capability" Projects are aimed for increase of preparedness of EU module, set up from EU member states capabilities, that are used for reacting within the frame of EU Mechanism in case of international operations. The Czech Republic already registrated two medium USAR teams (Fire Rescue Service of Capital Prague and FRS of Moravian-Silesian Region) into this project. In the near future the registration of another modules will follow (CBRN detection, High capacity pumping, etc.).
Applicant/coordinating beneficiary of this project is Ministry of Interior - General directorate of Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. Associated beneficiary are Fire Rescue service of Capital Prague and Fire Rescue Service of Moravian-Silesian Region. The duration of the project is 18 months, starting from 1 st January 2008. Project is co-financed by the EC with 80 %, 20 % of costs are coverd by participants.
Request of project of increase of capability USAR teams targets on specialised training for team members, languague courses and purchase of missing equipment in order to capability of the Czech Republic to provide heavy USAR team for case of international assistance. Another objective of the project is preparation for IEC according to Insarag Guidelines in October 2010.
