MODEX FALCK 2013

On 29th January Traumateam of the CR returned from the four days lasting exercise MODEX FALC in Denmark. This exercise was held in the Training centre of the Denmark Agency for Emergency Situation which is situated in Tinglev. This exercise is one of the six exercises organized by company FALCK in the frame of EU tender for preparation, organization and evaluation of the CP Modules.
The Czech Republic has participated in this exercise with newly formed module – Advanced Medical Post. This Module is composed of the members of Traumateam CR from the University hospital Brno and the logistic part is ensured by the members of the USAR team Praha. USAR teams from Great Britain (ISAR) and Iceland (ICE-SAR) have also participated in this exercise. These teams belong to the most experienced teams in Europe. Also the EU Civil Protection team whose main aim is to coordinate the tasks of the modules and admission of the rescue and in-kind assistance has participated the exercise.
The main topic of the exercise was earthquake in the country of Euland. This country has sent the request for assistance in form of USAR teams, AMP modules and HCP modules etc.
Traumateam CR has been tested in the challenging conditions during the exercise. Continuous operation has lasted for 72 hours. They have treated 227 injured people, thereof 84 were seriously injured and 18 people died.
